NASSA 2009 Show Report with thanks to Niki

The 4th annual NASSA American classic, custom and truck show has been and gone - and this show goes from strength to strength each year. NASSA is one of the few shows in the country that is aimed at all 'petrol heads' regardless of their vehicle preference, and for those who tend to concentrate on shows for their own type of ride, the show is a refreshing change. On display from Friday night onwards were a unique combination of American classics, hot rods, trucks, motorbikes, British classic cars and more.

Combined with superb camping facilities, a great indoor venue, rockin' bands and DJs that keep the atmosphere bouncing all weekend, this is not an event to be missed.

The weather was kind to us all weekend (which is more than it had been all week!) and the campers started gathering from Friday afternoon onwards, which was a time to catch up with old friends, set up the caravan or tent, fire up the barbeque then head up to the venue to dance the night away to The Wanderers.

Saturday dawned bright and warm, and a steady stream of cars and trucks pulled onto the campsite, whilst those who were already set up wondered round the array of traders, buying all manner of automotive accessories and memorabilia.

Saturday night is the main party night, and the function room was buzzing with music, raffles and live entertainment from the Reservoir Cats, who kept us boppin' 'til the early hours.

The campsite woke on Sunday to bright sunshine with a strong breeze, and that's how it stayed all day. Cars of all types, trucks, vans and wagons started arriving at around 8am, and this steady procession onto the showground continued to around lunchtime, by which time the showground was full. The show culminated with the presentation of a large number of trophies to recognise the skills and dedication of the people who work so hard to keep these fantastic vehicles on the road for us all to enjoy.

The NASSA show organisers are always looking for more like minded people to come along and display their pride and joy, so get in touch with us via the website or by phone if you or your club would like to come along to celebrate our 5th show in 2010. It's bound to be a weekend to remember - there are lots of plans in the pipeline to make this our best show yet! There's something to please everyone at NASSA, so come along and join us next year!
