WHO WE ARE
Hewitt International collects, stores and disposes of tens of thousands of vehicles every year on behalf of major insurance companies and other insurers.

Our fleet of cusom built transporters are designed to carry virtually any vehicle - from mopeds to combine harvesters and everything in between.

Our Head Office is based at our 50+ acre site in Wombourne, being centrally located means that we can cover the entire country and the continent with ease and bringing everything back to one large site makes logistics and urgent access easier for insurance engineers, previous owners, our customers and for us.

We have several inspection bays, meeting rooms and on-site qualified engineers available. Our Sites have 24 hour Surveillance on and off site with the latest available technology.


A LITTLE HISTORY
Hewitt International was founded in 1946 by John Hewitt when he returned from World War 2.

After finishing his two regular jobs each day he would work on cars at night. When his car business became sucessful enough he turned to that full time and the company - John Hewitt & Sons (Garages) Ltd. as it now is was born. Now, 60 odd years later, trading as Hewitt International the company has a fleet of over 40 modern recovery vehicles and over 60 staff.

  • Nationwide collection of all vehicles using our own fleet of specialised transporters, which have cellular connection with all Hewitt drivers. All collection staff carry ID. All vehicles have Satellite Tracking and Navigation which includes a display that allows our office to send collection details through to the driver while he is in the area and not wait until he arrives back on-site.
  • Free Nationwide Storage compounds
  • Re-deliver policyholders vehicles at your request
  • All category "A" vehicles (Burn-outs) crushed and disposed of correctly at our own sites
  • All Category "B" vehicles de-identified
  • Tax disks and personal belongings delivered or posted back to their owner
  • Personalised collection notes for both parties
  • Members of the Chartered Institute of Transport, MIMI, MIBE, RHA, BSC, ARA, FSB, MVDA, GuildMC and we fully abide by the ABI Code of Practice
  • Pay all outstanding storage charges
  • Fully comprihensive insurance whilst vehicles are in transit or on store
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly Management accounts
  • Payments within 3 working days of your request
